It seems that Obamacare’s demise is more likely now more than ever and Republicans have the chance to bring order to America’s health care system once and for all. Paul Ryan released his plan, which caused ire from his conservative colleagues. One of the most vocal has been none other than Senator Rand Paul.
Rand Paul has declared Ryan’s plan to be “Obamacare Lite” and has inferred that Ryan was a wolf’s in sheep’s clothing ready to betray the voters that he voted in. Paul is standing strong in his opposition towards Ryan, saying that the bill needs to eliminate the insurance mandate and puts the decision power back in the hands of the people.
One of the main concerns that Paul has is helping poor people find quality affordable insurance. That’s why Paul has proposed one unorthodox yet effective trick to solve this dilemma once and for all by letting people form co-ops and associations and by healthcare packages in bundles. This method would allow people to choose their healthcare on their own terms. Also, this move would spark an innovation in medical tech startups since software needed to be built to match people together.
By going back to economics 101 and leveraging the free market to create a solution, Rand Paul has given his Republican colleagues stand united under conservative principles. It is time for Republicans to step up and deliver to the American people. Your move, Ryan.
