In a rare show of bipartisanship between embattled and bitter democrats and their GOP rivals, the senate floor has planned an hour-long tribute on December 7th, 2016 for outgoing vice president Joe Biden.

Meghan Dubyak, Biden’s spokewoman said that the senate had agreed unanimously to hold a ceremony to pay respect and go over Biden’s service the past eight years as Vice President to Barack Obama.

Senator Chris Coons, a Democrat who holds Joe Biden’s former Senate seat which was vacated when he became Vice President, asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell months ago to schedule the tribute, according to ML McConnell.

McConnell “agreed on the spot,” Stewart said to the proposal to honor Biden on the senate floor. In a rare moment of national and political unity, the two parties agreed to a honoring of a top official to potentially cool down the heat over a controversial administration transition.

This is a beautiful thing to see, and although we at AltRighteous News are a conservative news organization, we are Americans first and conservatives second. We applaud both the senate and the house of representatives for their show of unity and respect to the current sitting vice president. With that said, we are more than excited to have the torch passed to president-elect Donald Trump and his VP Mike Pence.
